Every Total War has been somewhat of a disappointment after first shogun and medieval. Hopefully they can shape up by going back to roots.
For me the series started going downhill from Empire. Granted, I hate gunpowder settings but..
Hopefully this sparks my interested in Total War again

Was hoping for more Rome though.

Yeah, he lived towards the end of the 16th century and the start of the 17th (1584-1645), which means he might be around if the game gets from early 16th century to late 16/early 17th.
Might not happen with the game's new scope though. Maybe they bend time a bit but I doubt it

Damn but if they want hero characters that one has to be in there.
so there will be gunfire units too? but they probably suck back then without pikemen support.
