Red Blades of Manderian

Hello there people.

A few months ago I came across this game called Black Prophecy, I believe I originally found this little gem on the old forums here.
At the time, I believe, this game was, like most other MMO's, going to P2P.

However, rumours and official trailers are raising the suspicion that it is going to be F2P instead.

Now, that rarely bodes too well for an MMO.
But just in case it's going to be a rocker here's a video showing some stuff, but most importantly, states free to play (at the end).

F2P doesn't have to be bad, take DDO for instance, it's working great there!

Which reminds me, I need to make a huge DDO post sometime soon...
Anyway, if Black Prophecy goes F2P I'll try it out.

the 443 MB large gameplay trailer... to say I enjoyed the capital ship battles is quite an understatement.
If there is even the slightest chance that you can fly a capital ship with team/guildmates and do battle with them, that would be the single most awesome MMO I've ever played then.

I hate quality F2P games It used to be easy "F2P, nah it sucks". Now we actually have to make choices there too

Anyway, I'll be trying it too.

I remember watching some videos of the game a year or so ago. Thanks for reminding this existed!

Never could get into EVE with boring clickety combat. Hopefully this one doesn't suck. How far along is it in developement?

Well, I just signed up for closed beta, so I'm guessing it's nearing the final stages of development where playtesting will make up the core of the development process.
But the website mentions no specific release date yet, so either they'll announce it a month before release, or it still has a while to go.

But in any case, I'm interested in the game and I'm glad I'm not the only one here.

In the trailer you linked it says it's coming in 2010.

I know, I'm not 100% certain on the age of that video, I do believe it was shown on E3 2010, so it couldn't be THAT old.
But a specific date or even year isn't given in the FAQ.

Then again, a FAQ isn't always as up-to-date for most games in development (nor after launch for that matter..)
