Red Blades of Manderian

Valve released a top-down 4 person co-op shooter Alien Swarm for free on Steam last night. It's a quite tactical shooter with lots of different guns and equipment. There's 4 classes and you need to work together to succeed. There's also levels you can gain, unlocking more items.

There's only one campaign but they released full tools to make mods and maps for the game as well so you'll probably see more campaigns pop up in future. The game itself started its life as a mod but then Valve hired the developers and made the game a standalone game.

It's great fun for the couple of hours it takes to smash through the campaign with friends. And yeah, it's free.

But you didn't even anyone die. Well except when I engulfed Sain in flames so the parasites wouldn't get rest of us
