RE: Star Wars : The Old Republic
Definetly buying it here as well.

I still stand by the idea that we should roleplay a starship crew Tongue (And roll both a republic and sith empire guild, so we can play everything)

RE: Star Wars : The Old Republic
I really hope there are going to be "universal" servers, as in americans are free to play on european servers (And vica versa) without buying two accounts... If so, we can make a republic chapter on one side and a sith empire chapter on the other side. Else, we'll just have to work around that somehow..

RE: Star Wars : The Old Republic
Hm, personally I don't think that will happen unless they manage to get the same publisher (or whatever seems to be the reason not to) for both sides that'll probably not happen.

So far I've only come across one (p2p) MMO that did that, and that was lineage II.

Do I hope they keep 'm all available for everyone? Sure, I don't see the point in restricting someone in his choice like that, if they prefer higher latency as a tradeoff to play with cross-atlantic friends I'd say let them.
Financially it's profitable for them though, having people buy two accounts in order to play on both sides. On the other hand it might also discourage potential players to buy it since they don't want to go through all the trouble. I experienced it first-hand with WAR, it was near impossible to get my hands on the game. I had to get a friend send me the essential files, bought the gamecode from a goldseller website... but man was it tedious to get those files sent.

RE: Star Wars : The Old Republic
Well, there's been a statement that they plan to make servers open for international play a while ago however, as you said it's less profitable for them. Regarding the publishing thing, on one hand I agree but on the other hand there's Lucasarts who's overseeing everything.. But then again, Lucasarts is all about making money...

Either way, I doubt lag is going to be a problem though. I think anyone that intends to play MMO has atleast DSL (2MBit+), which shouldn't give any major lag nowadays, especially if you consider TOR is likely going to be heavily instanced for solo and small group play. It helps alot I reckon.

Taris revealed! I'm curious to see what they've made of it since the original KOTOR

Video about Taris.

Nothing very new but I do admit, that planet seems really awesome.
